Artist Spotlight: Behind the Woodshop

Kern, the designer & craftsman behind the LNULA wood shop, has been working endlessly on the newest additions for the shop. Recently Kern was recognized for his talent behind the workbench by being included in the international Materials Hard & Soft exhibition at the Greater Denton Arts Council. Back to the workshop, he goes! Kern is constantly coming up with new designs of products geared towards our clientele. With 50 years of woodworking experience under his belt, his expertise allows him to produce beautifully crafted, one of a kind pieces. A creator at heart, Kern has a natural ability to problem solve and put his ideas into action. 

On occasion, Kern joins us for in person artisan shows, where he can speak with our customer directly about the exotic woods and the production process. What I love about his design choices, is that he stays true to Earths color swatch. He intentionally chooses not to use artificial dyes, but extenuate the natural grain and hue of the variety of woods.

From my experience, I find it most rewarding to chat to artists directly about their passion and truly get a sense of what goes on behind creating their work.

All in all, we are grateful to have Kern on our team, as he is a wonderful addition to the LNULA brand.

We can't wait to see what Kern has in store for us and what new items he will bring the table next; we are sure it will be a hit.
